Are you restless and bored with nothing to do at home? Here is a short checklist to confirm :

1. You are staring at the ceiling for more than five minutes and waiting to see two lizards mate.

2. You are checking the fridge every half an hour to see if there is anything to eat … although you know nothing has changed inside for the last three days.

3. You are walking around the house and inspecting every corner like a real estate agent.

4. You are changing the tv channel every few seconds and lying on the couch brain dead with only the fingers moving.

5. You are asking your spouse what’s for dinner although you just had breakfast.

6. You are trying to surf the internet but keep ending up in the same bookmarks. And you keep refreshing the pages to see if your friends updated their blogs. Then you start to check your emails every 5 seconds.

7. You keep checking your phone and see if anyone SMS you. Then you suspect your phone is not working and call the operator to test your phone. But no one called you … really.

8. You keeping asking yourself how you end up in this state of boredom and wonder if there is God up there although God has nothing to do with it.

9. You are making plans to clean up your room … then you got lazy and you start to make plans for your spouse or mother to clean up your room.

10. You are looking out of the window and thinking what it’s like to exercise three times a week.

Pathetic … But not to worry. HELP is here. I have compiled a list of interesting things you can do in Singapore, mostly free for people like you. And if you are a tourist having holidays in Singapore and looking for things to do, especially when you cannot stand the usual type of tourist activities (like buying useless jade and ginseng that make you sleep), then this site can help you, I think :-)

What to do in Singapore?

There are seriously plenty of things to do in Singapore. There are many Singaporeans who would tell you most people here only like doing two things: Shopping and eating! Why? Because there is nothing much to do here in Singapore! But if that is the case, then most people here would have been candidates for The Biggest Loser for eating all the time, and broke because of the all the shopping! There are so many things to do in Singapore that you won’t do the same thing twice in a year! ok, maybe stretching a little, but it is safe to say you will not do the same thing every week. Besides, if you are looking for new things to do everyday, then you … need a life, and a job in Singapore.

Things to do in Singapore at night?

There are many people asking me what to do in Singapore at night? Sleep lah ! It’s crazy when there are many who can’t really get to bed at night early and always looking for some night actvities. How about watching TV? Boring. Facebook? Boring. Count sheeps? Boring. Sex? Boring. Listen to Parliament briefing? er … I can think of a few things you can do in the night though. How about putting a siren on your car boot and then flash the hazard lights .. then you drive on the extreme right of the highway and start picking up litter along the way. You can start from PIE then to CTE then to ECP. Should take you about 5 hours. Or you can camp around the Woodlands Jetty with a pair of binoculars and see if there is any illegal immigrant trying to swim across the Causeway trying to smuggle cheap pirated DVDs plus two cartons of cigarettes to Singapore. But bring enough mosquito repellent and a portable fan in case the weather gets a bit warm in Singapore.

Things to do in Singapore for kids?

One word, TUITION! Sounds fun huh? If you are a foreigner reading this, you probably won’t understand this. Kids in Singapore have a great deal of interest in studying and doing well academically. Other than going to school from Monday to Friday, most kids would attend extra enrichment classes over the weekends. Some Singapore parents would complain that their kids are bored with nothing to do at home, so might as well send them for additional classes and improve their grades. Poor kids … If you are not the sort who would drive your kids too hard, then you may want to consider a few activities like going to Pulau Ubin for an adventure camp, or bring them kite flying at the Marina Bay. Or bring them to Chua Chu Kang cemetry and look for ancestors and then draw up the family tree. Do it at night if you dare. This would be better than any Halloween party you have attended in Singapore and it sounds like a fun thing to do with the kids.

Things to do in Singapore alone

If you are single in Singapore or you have been dropped off by a spaceship from another planet, not to worry. You can do stuff in Singapore by yourself. Fishing is good for the soul, and so is exercising along the beach. How about biking? Yes, learn how to ride a motor bike. Apply for a licence at any of the Driving School and start riding. After you pass, then think twice before buying a bike because it’s really safer to drive around Singapore than to ride a bike. Or you can develop a hobby like remembering the bus routes of the entire Singapore bus service. I think there are two guys in Singapore who memorised the entire bus guide, the routes, the bus numbers and the fares. It’s strange I would even call that a hobby. But that’s an idea for those alone and looking for things to do in Singapore.

Romantic things to do in Singapore

Romantic things to do in Singapore? How about this, you head down to the West Coast Park, then go to the beach and pee on the sand your girlfriend’s name? Or take a ride on the Singapore Flyer and make sure you book the entire cabin (just one will do). Decorate the cabin with her favourite flowers and bring a bottle of Champagne to celebrate love, and a bottle of Red Bull to sober yourself after a few rounds with the gigantic ferris wheel and a hole in the wallet.

Things to do in Singapore on a budget

If you are looking for things to do in Singapore but you are kind of tight on the money, no worries. Everything I have listed on the right requires little or no fees, no entrance fees, no cover charge, no tips required and no plus plus plus or additonal taxes to pay. If you are a tourist with lots of money to spend, I would like to recommend you somewhere else, like the Marina Bay Sands. Please donate generously at the table, the charities in Singapore need your contribution. But if you are on a budget, all you need is a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated in this hot and humid Singapore weather and some creativity to help you along. ok let the show begin!
